Callie Veelenturf

United Nations Youth Representative & Fellow at The Explorers Club

Callie Veelenturf is an accomplished conservationist and marine biologist with extensive experience in wildlife conservation and research. Currently serving as a Young Professional in the Expert Knowledge Network at the United Nations Harmony with Nature Programme, Callie is also the Founder of For Nature and the Executive Director of The Leatherback Project. In addition, Callie holds roles as a Wildlife Ambassador for Youth for Wildlife Conservation and a National Geographic Explorer. Callie's previous positions include being a United Nations Youth Representative & Fellow at The Explorers Club and a Leatherback Fellow / Marine Biologist at Turtle Island Restoration Network. Callie has an academic background in marine biology and conservation, with a Doctor of Philosophy in Conservation Biology from the University of Central Florida, a Master’s Degree in Biology from Purdue University, and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from the University of Rhode Island.
