Richard Garriott De Cayeux

Richard Garriott de Cayeux has had an extensive and varied work experience. Richard founded Argent and Sable, Limited in November 2019 and serves as the Managing Partner. Richard is also currently the President of The Explorers Club since April 2021.

Richard has been involved with XPRIZE since 2000, serving as a Member of the Board of Trustees. Richard founded Portalarium in January 2010 and worked as the Creative Director until June 2019.

In the field of space exploration, Richard has had multiple roles. Richard was an Astronaut/Cosmonaut/Board Member at Space Adventures from January 1998 to 2017. Richard also founded Garriott Enterprises, Inc. in 2007 and served as the Managing Member until 2014. Richard was a member of the NASA Advisory Council from 2009 to 2013.

Richard's early career includes roles at NCSOFT as a Founder/Producer from 2000 to 2001 and as a Producer from 2001 to 2008. Richard worked as an Executive Producer at Electronic Arts (EA) from 1992 to 2000 and at Origin, where they were a Founder/Executive Producer from 1983 to 1992.

Richard Garriott de Cayeux attended The University of Texas at Austin from 1979 to 1982, where they pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering. Following this, they enrolled at Queen Mary University of London from 2008 to 2010 to obtain a Doctor of Science degree. The field of study for their doctorate is not specified.
