Gus Martinez

Gus Martinez has a diverse work experience in the events and hospitality industry. Gus began their career as a Sales Coordinator at Swissotel Chicago in 2008. Gus then worked as a Sales Associate at Associated Luxury Hotels International before transitioning to the role of Area Sales Manager at Hotel Felix. In 2012, Gus became the Regional Director of Sales at Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau. Gus then moved on to VISIT Milwaukee, where they served as Convention Sales & Multicultural Manager. In 2020, Gus joined Maritz Global Events as a National Account Manager before taking on the role of Director of Sales at Meet Chicago Northwest in 2021. Gus's experience also includes working as the National Sales Manager at McCormick Place and the Founder of GSM Consulting LLC, where they focused on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Business Development at The Expo Group.

Gus Martinez obtained a Diversity & Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University in 2020. Prior to that, they pursued their Bachelor's degree in Business with a focus on Marketing at the University of Illinois Chicago from 2003 to 2008.
