Nancy Burgoyne

Chief Clinical Officer at The Family Institute

Nancy Burgoyne, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in the field of psychology and family therapy. Nancy served as the Chief Clinical Officer at The Family Institute at Northwestern University since November 2015. Prior to that, they were the Director of the Postdoctoral Fellowship in Couple & Family Therapy at the same institute in September and October 2015. From September 2011 to August 2015, they held the position of Core Faculty MSMFT Program, Staff Therapist at the same institution.

Before their work at The Family Institute, Nancy was Self Employed as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Couple and Family Therapist from July 1992 to July 2011. Prior to that, they worked as the Coordinator of Family Therapy Training in the Department of Child Psychiatry at the University of Illinois at Chicago from July 1990 to June 1995.

Nancy Burgoyne, Ph.D., completed their education history with a strong foundation in psychology and human development. Nancy obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Human Development from Boston College, where they studied from 1978 to 1982. Later, Nancy pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Clinical-Community Psychology at DePaul University between 1986 and 1995.
