Tom Shields

Tom Shields is an experienced policy and public affairs manager currently working at The Finance Innovation Lab since March 2022, focusing on transforming the financial system for people and the planet through purpose-driven finance and policy influence. Prior to this role, Tom served as a policy adviser at HM Treasury from April 2020 to April 2022, contributing to international tax strategy and the competitiveness of primary capital markets within the Financial Services Group. Tom holds a Master of Science in Comparative Politics from The London School of Economics and Political Science, completed in 2019, and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Modern History and Politics from the University of Liverpool, earned in 2016.
