Alastair Cowie

Alastair Cowie has extensive experience in public service and policy management, currently serving as the Manager of Change Portfolio Prioritisation and Planning at the Financial Conduct Authority since April 2016, with previous roles including Technical Specialist in the Policy and Legislative Change Pipeline and Senior Associate for Change Project Pipeline. Prior to this, Alastair held multiple Assistant Director positions at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, focusing on corporate governance, long-term investment, and the Kay Review implementation from January 2010 to March 2016. Experience also includes roles at The Pensions Regulator, the Cabinet Office, and HM Treasury, where Alastair contributed to better regulation and policy advisement in various capacities from 2002 to 2009. Alastair’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in History and German from The University of Sheffield and A-Levels in History, French, German, and General Studies from Cheltenham College.
