Gemma Barnett

Gemma Barnett has extensive experience in the legal field, specializing in regulatory compliance and enforcement. Gemma started their career as a Solicitor at FS Legal (previously Regulatory Legal Solicitors) in 2011, where they worked until 2018. Gemma then joined the Financial Conduct Authority in 2019, first as an Associate Lawyer-Solicitor in the Regulatory Perimeter team before moving to the Retail Management and Strategy Team-Enforcement as a Lead Associate-Solicitor in 2021.

Gemma Barnett has a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with a focus on American Legal Studies from Birmingham City University, obtained in 2011. Gemma then completed the Legal Practice Course at the same university in 2013. In 2019, they obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) in Financial Regulation and Compliance from BPP University. Gemma also holds a Practising certificate from the Solicitors Regulation Authority, obtained in 2015.
