Lucy Newnham

Lucy Newnham is a data acquisition specialist at the Financial Conduct Authority since September 2024. Prior to this role, Lucy worked at Silverstream Technologies from September 2022 to August 2024 as a data scientist, data engineer, and software engineer, contributing to cloud services migration and application development. Beginning as a junior data scientist at MarketCast from February 2021 to August 2022, Lucy gained earlier experience as a PhD student at the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation from October 2015 to September 2019, focusing on tracing galaxy evolution. Educational achievements include a PhD in Astrophysics and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Portsmouth, complemented by demonstrator roles and internships in outreach and astrophysics.
