Colin Wheeler is a skilled finance and accounting professional with extensive experience in technical accounting and financial reporting. Currently serving as a Case Officer in Corporate Reporting Review at the Financial Reporting Council since August 2020, Colin is focused on ensuring compliance and promoting high-quality financial reporting for UK-listed companies. Prior to this role, Colin held managerial positions at KPMG UK and Mazars UK, providing technical advisory services related to accounting and regulatory changes for banking transactions and financial reporting. With additional expertise gained from positions at the IFRS Foundation and Mazars South Africa, including managing assurance engagements and contributing to IFRA standards training, Colin has a strong background in IFRS and UK GAAP matters. Colin holds a Master’s Degree in Philosophy in Taxation Law and a Bachelor of Business Science Degree in Finance from the University of Cape Town.

Financial Reporting Council

The FRC is the UK's independent regulator serving the public interest by setting high standards of corporate governance, reporting and audit and by holding to account those responsible for delivering them. We set the UK Corporate Governance and Stewardship Codes as well as UK standards for accounting, auditing and actuarial work. We represent UK interests in international standard-setting. We also monitor and take action to promote the quality of corporate reporting and auditing. We operate independent disciplinary arrangements for accountants and actuaries; and oversee the regulatory activities of the accountancy and actuarial professional bodies.
