Simon Ward has extensive experience in administrative roles, primarily in the financial sector. Currently serving as Executive Assistant to the Executive Director of Strategy at the Financial Reporting Council since November 2012, Simon previously held positions at HM Treasury as Executive Assistant to the Director of Financial Stability and as Personal Assistant to the Director of Finance, Procurement and Operations. Simon's career began at the Police Information Technology Organisation, where the role involved supporting the Corporate Services Director. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemistry from the University of Hertfordshire, complemented by a strong foundation from several local schools in the region.

Financial Reporting Council
The FRC is the UK's independent regulator serving the public interest by setting high standards of corporate governance, reporting and audit and by holding to account those responsible for delivering them. We set the UK Corporate Governance and Stewardship Codes as well as UK standards for accounting, auditing and actuarial work. We represent UK interests in international standard-setting. We also monitor and take action to promote the quality of corporate reporting and auditing. We operate independent disciplinary arrangements for accountants and actuaries; and oversee the regulatory activities of the accountancy and actuarial professional bodies.
