Louis Vargas

Louis Vargas currently serves as an Associate Registrar at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, overseeing the accession of objects into the permanent collection and coordinating art inventory and security measures. Prior experience includes roles at SFMOMA, where responsibilities ranged from Associate Registrar for Collections to Assistant Registrar for Painting & Sculpture, focusing on the accessional process and exhibition preparation. Additionally, Louis hosts The (art)Scene Podcast, engaging in conversations with artists and art professionals. Previous positions held include Asset Review Project Assistant at the California Academy of Sciences, Production Intern at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and various roles at the University of San Diego and The New Children's Museum. Louis holds a Master's Degree in Exhibition & Museum Studies from the San Francisco Art Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of San Diego.
