Mike Lai is an experienced professional in the field of fine arts, currently serving as the Head Museum Mountmaker at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco since August 2012, where responsibilities include project management of museum mount design, fabrication, and installation while overseeing a team of mountmakers. Previous roles include Senior Museum Mount Maker and Museum Technician, where duties involved the installation and transportation of valuable artworks and intricate finish carpentry. In addition to museum work, Mike Lai operates as a freelance videographer, video editor, and A/V installation technician, collaborating with various art institutions. As Director and Lead Artist at Lai Dynasty since January 2000, notable accomplishments include recognition from KQED and nomination by SFMoMA. Mike Lai also served as Exhibits Manager at Zeum from 2007 to 2010, managing interactive multimedia exhibits and vendor contracts. Education includes an MFA in Sculpture from the San Francisco Art Institute and a BA in Studio Arts from Davidson College.
