Renee Dreyfus is a distinguished curator currently serving as the George and Judy Marcus Distinguished Curator and Curator in Charge of Ancient Art at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, a position held since February 1977. With extensive experience in ancient art and interpretation, Renee has been integral to the institution since its inception. Prior to this role, Renee was a curator at the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester from 1970 to 1977. Renee holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Ancient Art and Archaeology from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master's degree in Classical, Ancient Mediterranean and Near Eastern Studies and Archaeology from Brandeis University, and a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Boston University.
