Doreen Joy Barber has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Doreen Joy started their career in 2011 as a Beer Geek Extraordinaire at The Jolly Butchers, where they assisted customers and updated the website and Twitter account. In 2012, they worked as a Copywriter, Editor, and Content Strategist at Great British Chefs, contributing and editing content for the website. Doreen Joy also worked as a Social Media and Web Strategy Consultant at East London Food Access (ELFA) Ltd, advising on web strategy and creating projects for community benefit.

In 2012, Barber joined Cave Direct as an Account Manager, managing sales accounts and developing relationships with clients. Doreen Joy also wrote a proposal for the company's social media strategy. In 2009, Doreen Joy Barber pursued a Masters of Anthropology of Food at SOAS University of London. Doreen Joy'sstudies in this program included Anthropology of Food, Anthropology of Urban Space, and Culture & Society of Japan. Doreen Joy completed their master's degree in 2010.

In addition to their formal education, Doreen Joy Barber has obtained certifications in various subjects.
