Rick Courtemanche serves as the Deputy General Counsel for The Florida Bar since July 2015, where responsibilities include coordinating public records, advising the Client Security Fund, and liaising with Bar Committees. Prior to this role, Rick worked as the Assistant City Attorney and Police Legal Advisor for the City of Tallahassee from December 2000 to July 2015, providing legal counsel to police management, drafting legal bulletins, and overseeing the city’s Red Light Camera hearing officer process. Experience also includes positions as Assistant General Counsel with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Assistant General Counsel for the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, and Assistant State Attorney in the Second Judicial Circuit. Rick holds a Juris Doctor degree from The University of Alabama School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Florida State University.
