Tony Wirkus has a diverse work experience that spans across various companies and roles. Tony is currently the Director of Food Strategy and Safety at The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri, where they oversee strategic sourcing and builds relationships with retail, manufacturing, and transportation companies. Prior to this, they held various roles at the University of Missouri-Columbia, including Associate Athletics Director and Director of Event Management/Sustainability Coordinator. In these positions, they managed facilities, led teams of employees, and handled budgets. Tony also worked as an Adjunct Instructor and Assistant Director of Event Management at the university. Additionally, Tony worked as a Project Manager at GAIA Consulting Group and as the Homecoming Director at the Mizzou Alumni Association, where they managed committees, recruited volunteers, and organized events.

Tony Wirkus completed their Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on Leisure Service Management at the University of Missouri-Columbia from 2007 to 2011. Tony then went on to pursue further education and obtained a Master of Science degree in Sport Management from the same university during the period of 2011 to 2013. In addition to their formal education, Tony Wirkus has also acquired certifications in HACCP Principles and GMP Training for Food Processors and Manufacturers from eHACCP.org, as well as a ServSafe Manager certification from the National Restaurant Association.
