Brandon Smith is the current Executive Director at The Forestry and Fire Recruitment Program. Brandon was previously a Wildland Firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service from January 2013 to May 2018. Brandon has also held positions as a Data and Evaluation Coordinator and Educational Coach - Math with the Children Youth and Family Collaborative, and as a Math Instructor with Nia Educational Charter School. In 2006, they worked as a Research Assistant for Dr. Ruth Johnson, Author – Data Strategies to Uncover and Eliminate Hidden Inequities.

Brandon Smith has a Bachelor of Arts in African-American/Black Studies from the University of California, Berkeley and a Graduate degree from the Wildland Fire Academy in Fire Science/Fire-fighting from Victor Valley College.
