Maria Luisa Hernandez Miranda

Maria Luisa Hernandez Miranda is a Laboratory Research Scientist at The Francis Crick Institute since September 2023. Previously, Maria Luisa served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Southampton, focusing on outreach and public engagement activities aimed at addressing skeletal health inequities. Maria Luisa completed a PhD at the University of Southampton, where research concentrated on the effects of extracellular matrix mechanical properties on stem cell behavior relevant to bone regeneration. Further experience includes roles as a Research Assistant, overseeing students in hydrogel fabrication and conducting clinical sample processing at the MRC Epidemiology Unit, as well as Clinical Study Coordinator positions at Bayer and Sanofi, handling patient communication and study documentation. Maria Luisa holds a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree from Instituto Politécnico Nacional in Biological and Biomedical Sciences and Medical Microbiology and Bacteriology, respectively.
