Stephen Mayhew

Stephen Mayhew has a strong background in corporate strategy and business management. Stephen currently holds a position as the Chief Business Officer at The Francis Crick Institute since February 2023. Prior to this, they founded their own consulting firm, Mayhew Associates Ltd., where they served as the Managing Director and Principal since September 2018. From January 2019 to February 2023, they worked as the Director of Strategy & Portfolio at CEPI, a coalition focusing on epidemic preparedness innovations. Stephen'sprevious roles include Global Head of Corporate Strategy and Project Management Office at Stallergenes Greer, Head of R&D Strategy & Programme Management Office and Director of Corporate Strategy at GlaxoSmithKline, and Management Consultant at Kinapse. Stephen's career also includes positions such as Business Manager at Cancer Research Technology, Study Director at Life Sciences Research, and Research Fellow at the University of Leeds.

Stephen Mayhew completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biochemistry at the University of Liverpool from 1992 to 1995. Stephen then pursued further education and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Leeds between 1995 and 1998. Later, they attended Imperial College London, where they completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from 2005 to 2007.
