Justin Gibbs

Justin Gibbs has a diverse and extensive work experience, spanning various roles and companies. Justin started their career in 1997 as a Software Architect at Pluto Technologies International Inc. In 1998, they became an Independent Consultant, offering their expertise in various projects. From 2000 to 2004, they worked at Adaptec, Inc. as a Software Architect. In the same time frame, they also founded and became President of The FreeBSD Foundation, a non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting and enhancing the FreeBSD operating system. Justin continued their involvement with FreeBSD as a Developer and member of the FreeBSD Core Team from 1993 to 2000. In 2004, they became a Software Architect at Avidyne Corporation, where they worked until 2009. From 2009 to 2015, Justin served as a Senior Software Architect at Spectra Logic. Most recently, they joined Facebook in 2015 as a Software Engineer.

Justin Gibbs attended the University of California, Berkeley from 1991 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS).
