Michelle Mendonca has a diverse range of work experience. Michelle has been working as a Program Manager for The Freedom Fund since 2018. Prior to that, they worked as an Advocate and Anti-Trafficking Consultant for an Independent Consultant role starting in 2016. Michelle also served as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Eastern University from 2013 onwards.

In 2016, they became a Project Director at Counsel to Secure Justice, where they stayed until 2017. Before that, Michelle worked at Justice and Care as a Director of Networking/Partnerships from 2014 to 2016, where they accomplished various achievements such as raising awareness of trafficking with government agencies and influencing policy.

Their work journey began at International Justice Mission, starting in 2005 as a Director of Legal, where they focused on combatting trafficking and building institutional capacity through policy drafting. Prior to that, Michelle had experience working at ICICI Bank as a Senior Officer from 2004 to 2005, followed by a role as a Junior Executive at Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited from 1998 to 2004.

Michelle Mendonca's education history is as follows:

Michelle began their educational journey in 1994 at Wilson College, Mumbai University, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. From 2000 to 2003, they attended Government Law College, Mumbai, and obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree in Legal Education. Continuing their education, they pursued a Masters in Organizational Leadership at Eastern University from 2010 to 2012, focusing on Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management. Lastly, Michelle attended the University of Oxford from 2017 to 2019, where they completed an MSt (LL.M Equivalent) in International Human Rights Law.
