Varsha Gyawali, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Varsha is currently serving as a Research and Evaluation Manager at The Freedom Fund since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Development Worker at FAITH IN COMMUNITY (SCOTLAND) from 2012 to 2014, where they supported faith-based organizations in developing community-based projects and conducted participatory action research on homelessness. From 2009 to 2012, Varsha was a Co-founder and Director of the Centre for Conflict Resolution & Human Security, where they managed a team, developed the strategic framework, and led programmatic activities focused on communalism and community-based mediation. Varsha also worked with The Carter Center from 2005 to 2007 as a Political Project Coordinator, liaising and coordinating with key stakeholders involved in Nepal's peace process.
Varsha Gyawali, PhD, pursued their education in a range of academic institutions throughout their career. In 2000, they enrolled in Kathmandu University (KU) and completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in 2002. Later, in 2007, they attended the University of Bradford, where they obtained a Master's degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution in 2008. Varsha'sacademic journey continued, as they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at Coventry University from 2016 to 2020.
