Martin R. Collin

Martin R. Collin is a seasoned educator and playwright currently serving as a Guitar, Mandolin, and Banjo Teacher at The Front Porch since September 2017. With a rich background in literature and education, Martin held the position of English Department Chair at Saint James School from 1990 to 2017, where responsibilities included curriculum development and faculty evaluation. As a playwright, Martin has published eight plays that collectively have been performed over 145 times. Additional teaching experience includes roles at The Kildonan School and the University of Maryland–College Park, along with a stint as a Reader for the University of Virginia's Department of Undergraduate Admissions. Martin holds a Master’s Degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Maryland and Bachelor’s and Associate's Degrees in English and Liberal Arts, respectively.
