Graham Davey retired early from teaching and spent five months in India in 1991 working as a volunteer at a Quaker centre. His time there included an 8 week seminar on Gandhi held at his last ashram, Sevagram, and he learned about the wide range of his interests and radical ideas. On his return to this country he went to what was then called the Gandhi Foundation Summer School and have been going ever since.
He became treasurer in 2002 and helped to simplify the structure of the Foundation and switch our account to a bank operating with ethical principles.
Other activities include various Quaker groups, the Life-Style Movement and Bristol Inter-Faith Group. He supports several organizations working for peace; world development; human rights; the environment and the welfare of farm animals.
