Stas Baranov

Stas Baranov has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Stas is currently working as a Principal / LP at The General Partnership, where they lead Blockchain advisory and engineering for their portfolio of companies. Before that, they held a similar position at Sweat Equity Ventures, where they invested expertise, time, and capital in exchange for equity.

In 2020, Stas served as the Chief Technology Officer at a Stealth Gaming Startup, where they built the first product prototype and achieved high real-time performance through innovative strategies. Stas also designed the architecture, established development practices, and selected creatives to further develop the product.

From 2007 to 2020, Stas worked at Google as a Staff Tech Lead Mgr, where they were responsible for various technology products. Their notable accomplishments include leading the redesign of YouTube streaming servers, architecting big data solutions for datacenter storage optimization, and co-founding a low-code development platform.

In 2018 and 2019, Stas was the Chief Executive Officer of Bergamo Holdings, a profitable mortgage lending company, and was also involved in building and trading automated algorithmic systems in cryptocurrencies and commodity futures.

Earlier in their career, Stas worked as an Engine Team Lead at Crystal Dynamics, overseeing shared engine technology for multiple video game properties. Stas was also a founding partner at Craftpath Software, where they led the company in releasing an award-winning video game.

Prior to that, Stas served as an Engineering Director at MUH from 1994 to 1999.
