Briana E.

Briana E. has a diverse work experience in journalism and media relations. Briana currently works as a Journalist & Social Media Editor at Deutsche Welle since June 2021. Prior to this, they were a Content Contributor & Podcast Associate at The GIST in 2020. Briana also worked as a Social Media Editor at informed from December 2021 to March 2023.

Briana has a background in sports as well, having served as a Communications Manager at SportsTechX from May 2019 to May 2021. Briana also gained experience in media relations as a Media Relations Graduate Assistant for Ohio Athletics at Ohio University from July 2017 to June 2018. Briana managed media relations for Ohio Field Hockey and Ohio Wrestling, handled interviews, produced game recaps, and updated the athletics website. Briana also assisted with game-day operations, statistics, public relations, press conferences, and media outreach for other Ohio sports.

Briana started their career at Backdrop magazine, where they held multiple roles including Writer from November 2013 to August 2017, Director of Community and Member Relations from March 2016 to April 2017, and Advertising Director from December 2014 to April 2017. Briana also interned at Ohio University Athletics as a Media Relations Intern from August 2014 to May 2017. In this role, they assisted with media relations for various sports teams, produced game recaps, updated the athletics website, and participated in game-day operations, public relations, press conferences, and media outreach.

Briana gained additional experience as a Social Media Intern at the Ohio Department of Public Safety from August 2016 to April 2017. Briana also interned at ColumbusUnderground.com and 614 Media Group, where they focused on marketing and gained hands-on experience in the industry. Overall, Briana has demonstrated their passion and skills for journalism, media relations, and social media management throughout their career.

Briana E. has a diverse education history encompassing both undergraduate and graduate studies. Briana began their educational journey at Hilliard Davidson High School, where they obtained their high school diploma from 2009 to 2013.

Briana then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs at Ohio University between the years 2013 and 2017. Building upon their undergraduate education, Briana went on to complete two separate master's degrees.

From 2017 to 2019, they attended Ohio University once again, this time pursuing a Master of Science degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. Additionally, they enrolled at Leipzig University during the same period and obtained a Master of Arts degree in Global Mass Communication.

In terms of additional certifications, Briana received training in HTML & CSS from CodeAcademy.lt in April 2017.
