Global Director, Digital Manufacturing Solutions; Head, Global Engineering Center at The Gleason Works

Rakesh Kulkarni has a diverse range of work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Rakesh began their career as a Summer Intern at Xerox Engineering Center in 2004, where they focused on R&D portfolio prioritization and database management. Rakesh then served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2003 to 2005.

In 2005, Rakesh joined Xerox Research Center Webster as a Systems Engineer and later became an Associate Systems Engineer. During this time, they also worked as a Project Manager, leading a team to optimize traffic flow in the Los Angeles Traffic Management High Occupancy Toll (HOT) lanes project. Rakesh also made specific recommendations for automating workflows and delivered strategies to optimize business processes.

From 2009 to 2010, Rakesh held the role of Research Scientist at Xerox Research Center Webster, where they developed a quantitative methodology for assessing market sensitivity and led a Design for Lean Six Sigma sustainability effort for the entire organization. Rakesh also invented key components and built competency in Image on Paper Registration (IOP) technology, resulting in patents and conference papers.

In 2013, Rakesh joined PARC - New York, Xerox Innovation Group, Xerox Corporation as a Senior Analytics Innovation Pipeline & Project Manager. Rakesh led large technology projects in transportation analytics and promoted video analytics for parking needs.

Since 2017, Rakesh has been working at Gleason Corporation as the Global Director of Digital Manufacturing Solutions and Head of the Global Engineering Center. Rakesh is responsible for leading industrial IoT and analytics initiatives while overseeing the setup and management of the Global Engineering Center in India.

Rakesh Kulkarni has an extensive education history in the field of engineering and management. Rakesh obtained their Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University of Mumbai between 1999 and 2003.
