Alison Hanning has over 30 years of work experience in the field of IT. Alison is currently serving as the Head of IT at The Glenmorangie Company since March 2018. Prior to this, they worked as the Head of IS at Highland Spring Ltd from November 2013 to March 2018, and as the Head of IS at William Grant & Sons from May 2010 to November 2013. Alison also had the role of Programme Manager at Heineken International from May 2008 to May 2010.
Alison's earlier experience includes serving as an IT Manager (JV in Vietnam) at Scottish and Newcastle from January 2007 to November 2007, where they were responsible for setting up a new joint venture company in Vietnam and managing various projects. Alison also worked as the Head of Solutions Architecture at Scottish and Newcastle from September 2003 to December 2006, and as the Systems Development Manager from September 1998 to September 2003.
Before that, Alison started their career at Scottish & Newcastle IT department in 1988. Alison worked there in various roles, starting from a graduate level programmer and progressing through development, analysis, and project roles.
Throughout their career, Alison has gained extensive experience in IT strategy, business systems, operations, and project management.
Alison Hanning pursued their higher education at Glasgow Caledonian University from 1985 to 1988. During this period, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Information Systems. After a gap in their education, they enrolled in Edinburgh Napier University in 1999 and completed their studies in 2001, although their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree was left incomplete. Their field of study during this time was MBA.
