Muhammad Wakil, CFA, currently serves as the Country Representative for The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP), where efforts focus on aiding developing countries in transitioning to net-zero carbon emissions while ensuring full energy access. Prior experience includes roles at The World Bank as a Senior Energy Specialist and Energy Specialist, driving energy sector projects in Africa and the Middle East. Muhammad Wakil also contributed as a Financial Analyst and Power Sector Advisor at the Nigeria Infrastructure Advisory Facility, and as a Special Assistant to the Commissioner at the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission during key power sector reforms. Previous positions include an Analyst role at Power Capital Ltd focusing on renewable energy transactions in Europe and an analyst position during a National Service year at the Central Bank of Nigeria. Educational qualifications include an MSc in Metals and Energy Finance from Imperial College London and a BSc in Finance and Accounting from Brunel University London.
