The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria
Mohsen Asadi-Lari is an accomplished academic and healthcare leader with extensive experience in epidemiology and public health. Currently serving as an Alternate Board Member and elected Board Member for the Eastern Mediterranean Constituency at The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria since March 2015, Asadi-Lari also holds the position of Professor and Associate Professor of Epidemiology at IRAN University of Medical Sciences, where the individual leads the Oncopathology Research Centre, a multidisciplinary hub for cancer research. As a Board Member of the Iranian Epidemiology Association since May 2013 and a former Member of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization (October 2013 - May 2015), Asadi-Lari has contributed significantly to global health discussions. Additionally, the professional background includes serving as a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Warwick and a Senior Expert at the Ministry of Health and Medical Education in Iran. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Cardiovascular Epidemiology from the University of Nottingham and an MD from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences.
