Academic qualifications include a Master of Information System from Deakin University and a Bachelor of Food Science from the University of Melbourne.

In November 2016, JB Hi-Fi acquired The Good Guys, identifying the brand to be a strong strategic fit. Now united as the JB Hi-Fi Limited, this partnership has created a new force in Australian retailing.
