Kelsey Ward is a PhD student and research assistant in Cara Manning's gas biogeochemistry lab at the University of Connecticut-Avery Point, focusing on developing a new method to quantify denitrification using noble gas tracers. Previously, Kelsey served as a graduate research assistant at the University of Maine, where a biological model of scallop larvae growth and movement was created and coupled to a hydrodynamic model. Kelsey has held various teaching assistant roles, including for courses in marine ecology, marine physiology, and oceanographic computer models, while also grading essays for The Graide Network and tutoring high school and college students in math and sciences. Additional experience includes summer research internships and a role as a broodstock intern, contributing significantly to marine science research and education. Kelsey holds a Master's degree from the University of Maine and a Bachelor's degree in Marine Sciences from Stockton University.
