The Guildhall Trust

The Guildhall Trust takes an innovative approach to diversifying and evolving cultural assets, ensuring growth, sustainability, and social impact for local authorities and cultural organisations. Initially established as a not-for-profit Distributing Organisation (NPDO) by Portsmouth City Council in 2010, Portsmouth Cultural Trust became a registered charity in 2013. Following a comprehensive consultation process and rebranding, the Trust changed its name to The Guildhall Trust in 2019. As the cultural management of the iconic Portsmouth Guildhall, we understand the balance between driving commercial revenues and supporting community and educational activities. Portsmouth Guildhall boasts a 2000-seat concert hall that hosts an exceptional range of music, comedy, dance, drama, and family shows. Additionally, the venue is one of the leading conference and meeting centres on the South Coast. It provides a range of large, mid-size and small spaces to accommodate any event. We also develop cultural opportunities for the community through interactive 'Get Involved' programmes and events, including the highly successful Dance Live! and Portsmouth Comic Con. A journey from zero to 25000+ instances of community engagement through the production and presentation of nationally recognised events and targeted projects. All of this whilst increasing our turnover through diversifying our commercial initiatives.
