Juan Castañeda has extensive experience in data analysis and research. Juan started their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Houston in 2010, where they worked on collecting and analyzing data for educational intervention programs. Juan then became a Graduate Research Associate, managing data and conducting research on school-climate and grade-level transitions.
In 2012, Juan joined the University of Houston again as a Program Evaluation Associate, responsible for coordinating and managing a public health survey. Juan analyzed survey data using statistical techniques and provided technical reports. Juan also developed a screening tool for college-student behavioral health choices.
From 2013 to 2017, Juan worked as a Social Science Research & Statistics Consultant, providing consultancy services to various organizations.
Since 2015, Juan has been working at The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD. Juan started as a Statistical Outcomes Analyst, where they mined client information and applied statistical models to improve patient services. Juan also collaborated with others to ensure accurate data collection. In 2017, they became a Data Science & B.I. Architect, responsible for integrating and modeling data from different business divisions and visualizing outputs in dynamic reports. Juan worked on various projects, including modeling physician productivity and identifying patients at risk for readmission. Currently, they hold the position of Principal Data Scientist/Architect at the same organization.
Juan Castañeda's education history includes studying Measurement, Quantitative Methods, & Learning Sciences at the University of Houston. Juan also pursued a field of study in Mental Health with a focus in Quantitative Research at the same institution. Prior to that, Juan studied Social Sciences at SUNY Brockport.
