Giorgio Caldarone has extensive experience in real estate planning, operations, and investments. He joined The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation in September 2018 and currently serves as the Managing Director, Hawai’i Real Estate. He is responsible for managing the Foundation’s Hawai’i real estate portfolio, with a total value of more than $1 billion, working closely with the Foundation’s Baltimore-based investment team. Mr. Caldarone’s duties include formulating and executing strategies to optimize returns and cash flow, with a particular focus on property operations, dispositions, redevelopment/repositioning, recapitalization (including ground leases and master leases), and joint-venture options.
Prior to joining the Weinberg Foundation, Mr. Caldarone was the Senior Director, Planning and Development of Kamehameha School’s $3.5 billion commercial real estate division, where he was responsible for planning and development activities. Prior to joining Kamehameha Schools, he was an independent consultant as well as a Senior Consultant with KPMG Consulting (currently BearingPoint, Inc.) where he supported a variety of client engagements. Mr. Caldarone also served over five years in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Caldarone received his MBA from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, as well as a BS in Environmental Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He is also an Omidyar Fellow and a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM).
Mr. Caldarone resides in Kailua, Hawai’i with his wife Cassie and two young children (one daughter and one son). He is an avid kite surfer and enjoys surfing, bodysurfing, and other recreational activities such as boating, biking, fishing, and hiking with the family.
