James Rhyner

James Rhyner, RPLU, has extensive experience in the insurance industry, currently serving as the Head of Financial Lines at The Hartford since May 2019, where James leads the Management, Professional, and Cyber underwriting profit center. Prior to this role, Rhyner was the President of Navigators Financial Lines, overseeing the Management and Professional Liability underwriting profit center from August 2017 to May 2019. Rhyner’s career includes a significant tenure at Chubb as Senior Vice President for Professional Liability, managing North America Major Accounts and developing underwriting strategies from January 2004 to August 2017. Additionally, Rhyner was a Senior Vice President and Partner at Avreco, Inc., and began their career as an E&O underwriter at American International Group. Rhyner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University, earned in 1986.
