Glenn Smith, PE CFA has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Glenn has worked as a Managing Director at The Portland Venture Group, where they identified and managed key investors and facilitated investments in local high-growth opportunities. At The Hawthorn Group, Glenn served as Managing Director and provided business development, strategic planning, and fundraising services.
Glenn also held the position of Director of Business Development at SonicBlue, Inc, where they analyzed the worldwide broadband market and led the development of a new broadband modem. As the President and Board Member of Saltire Software, Inc, Glenn introduced new products and capabilities targeted at the mechanical engineering market.
Prior to that, Glenn worked as the Vice President of Product Management at AT&E Corporation, where they successfully launched a new wristwatch paging system. Glenn also served as the Director of Business Development and Planning at GE Calma, where they grew the AEC business revenue and developed pricing and segmentation strategies.
Glenn's experience also includes working as the Manager of Financial Planning at Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Co, where they evaluated joint ventures and acquisitions and raised additional capital through private placement. Glenn started their career as a Project Engineer at Exxon Research and Engineering Corp, where they developed thermal designs and engineered energy recovery and air pollution control systems.
Glenn Smith has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A) degree in Finance/Marketing from the University of California, Berkeley. Glenn also holds a Master of Science (M.S) degree in Mechanical Engineering - Thermal Systems from the same university. In addition to their postgraduate degrees, Glenn has a Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University.
