Francesca Cavallaro has extensive experience in research and analysis, particularly in the fields of public health and epidemiology. Francesca is currently working as a Senior Data Analyst at The Health Foundation since January 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Research Fellow at UCL GOS Institute of Child Health from May 2021 to January 2022. Francesca also worked as a Research Fellow at UCL GOS Institute of Child Health from November 2019 to May 2021. Before that, they were a Researcher at IRD from January 2019 to November 2019.
Francesca's early experience includes roles such as a Research Fellow in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine from March 2015 to March 2018. In this role, they designed and implemented the evaluation of a national family planning supply chain system in Senegal. Francesca also worked as a PhD Student at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine from October 2011 to March 2015, where they focused on estimating the unmet need for caesarean sections in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
Furthermore, Francesca has experience in program evaluation and monitoring as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at PACT | Partners in Health from August 2009 to July 2010. Francesca was involved in the evaluation of a chronic disease management program funded by Medicaid. Prior to that, they worked as the B-FINE Women's Project Coordinator at AMPATH (Academic Model for Providing Access to Healthcare) from February 2009 to July 2009.
Francesca Cavallaro pursued their education in a chronological manner, beginning with their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Human Sciences from the University of Oxford, which they completed from 2005 to 2008. Following this, they enrolled at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, U. of London, obtaining a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Demography & Health between 2010 and 2011. Francesca proceeded to further their studies at the same institution, culminating in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, U. of London, which they accomplished from 2011 to 2015.
