Lorna Purcell

Lorna Purcell currently serves as Head of Governance and Secretary to the Board at the Health Research Board (HRB) since November 2023. Prior to this role, Lorna held positions at Medical Council Ireland, including Head of Corporate Governance & Secretary to the Council and Information Governance Officer from October 2017 to October 2023. Lorna's earlier experience includes working as a Quality Officer at Dublin Simon Community and holding various volunteer positions at ALONE and ActionAid Ireland. Lorna also gained experience in regulatory roles at KBC Bank Ireland and AIB, as well as working in regulation at the Irish Stock Exchange. Lorna holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and Sociology from University College Dublin, completed in 2004.
