Catherine Mullaney (Erlinger) was born and raised in West Hills, CA. She first joined The Heart Foundation in 2004 after she made the decision to transition from a job in marketing to the field of non-profit. Raised with a strong sense of the importance of philanthropy and service, the transition seemed natural. Over the next nine years, Catherine expanded her knowledge of non-profit operations, donor development, and special event fundraising, holding many roles at The Heart Foundation including Director of Operations & Donor Relations and Director of Development. Catherine departed The Heart Foundation in 2013 to serve as the Executive Director for the Greater Los Angeles/Orange County Chapter of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. When The Heart Foundation Chairman Mark Litman reached out to her in 2015 about filling the vacant position of Executive Director, Catherine chose to return, excited to re-connect with the donors and continue the work to support the revolutionary research of Dr. Shah and his colleagues. As Executive Director, Catherine oversees the day-to-day operations of The Heart Foundation; corporate, individual and foundation fundraising; special events such as the golf tournament and humanitarian awards gala dinners; and donor interaction, cultivation and appreciation. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Georgetown University. She remains committed to working with the donors, the Board of Directors, and Dr. Shah to one day make The Heart Foundation’s vision of a world where no one dies of heart disease a reality. When not at The Heart Foundation, you may find her teaching group exercise classes at a local gym or directing her church choir.
