Kevin Hart is the director of The Hidden Genius Project, a nonprofit that mentors black male youth in technology. Kevin is also a speaker, author, and startup advisor. Prior to their current position, Kevin was the VP and Business Information Officer - National Facilities Services at Kaiser Permanente from January 2009 to December 2013. In this role, Kevin was responsible for facilitating governance and leading the delivery of all IT products and services for Kaiser Permanente’s National Facilities Services (NFS) organization. Kevin led a direct staff of 140+ and matrix staff of over 1000 IT professionals in the delivery of technology infrastructure, devices and applications supporting National Facilities Services’ $4B+ operation that includes: Facilities Planning and Design, Construction Acquisition, Facilities Operations and Clinical Technology functions. Kevin also managed $350M budget in support of National Facilities Services capital projects. Kevin was accountable for collaborating with Kaiser Permanente’s national/regional IT organization, regional/national health plan/hospital leaders and regional medical groups to ensure alignment of technology solutions with NFS template hospitals and other clinical facilities.
Some of Kevin’s key accomplishments during their time at Kaiser Permanente include reducing the IT portion of the $2.5B+ facilities capital plan from 12% to 7%, supporting NFS clinical technology and regional operations team in the successful rollout of 16k+ infusion pumps on budget and on schedule across the enterprise, successfully delivering IT products and services in support of KP’s $30B+ facilities capital plan that includes 15 Hospitals and 100+ medical office buildings completed since 2006, developing business applications strategy to support NFS $400M facilities management cost savings initiative, and partnering with regional/national clinical leaders, NFS clinical technology team and IT care delivery team to improve KP’s biomedical device integration capabilities.
Kevin Hart graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Kevin then went on to complete an Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Business School Executive Education and a Leadership Development Program at Center For Creative Leadership.
