Colin Smith

Colin Smith is a seasoned creative professional with extensive experience in design and editorial leadership. Currently serving as Creative Director at The Hill since November 2022, Colin is leading a significant redesign of the publication while overseeing brand development and journalism assignments. Previously held roles include Senior Project Designer at The Villages Daily Sun, where Colin contributed to innovative design projects, and Digital News Designer at Gannett, focusing on digital storytelling. Colin's earlier positions include Managing Editor of Innovation at The Villages Daily Sun, Design Director at The Salt Lake Tribune, and various design roles at other newspapers. Colin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Planning from the University of Southern California.
