Julie Harakal

Julie Harakal has extensive experience in the field of education. Julie currently holds the position of Assistant Head of School and Director of Curriculum at The Hillside School since 2022. Prior to this, they served as an Assistant Principal at Roberto Clemente Elementary Charter School from July 2022 to September 2022. Julie also worked as the MTSS Academic and Assessment Coordinator at Circle of Seasons Charter School from June 2020 to July 2022. Their career in education began as a Teacher at Diocese of Allentown in August 2014, where they worked until June 2020.

Julie Harakal completed their Master of Education - MEd degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General at Saint Joseph's University from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Education - BEd degree in Secondary Education and Teaching from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania from 2008 to 2012. Julie also earned a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and Teaching from the same institution during the same period.

In addition to their formal education, Julie has obtained several certifications. In January 2023, they completed the CRA (Concepts, Results, and Applications) courses in Fractions, Integers & Equations, and Multiplication & Division at the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN). Julie also completed the PULSE certification in October 2022 from the same institution.

Furthermore, Julie has received the Administrative-I certification for Principal K-12 and the Curriculum Coordinator/Instructional Supervisor certification from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in June 2018. Julie has also completed the LETRS certification offered by Lexia Learning, although specific dates for this certification are not available.
