Albert Park

Albert Park currently serves as the ADB Chief Economist and Director General of the Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department at the Asian Development Bank since December 2021. Park holds an academic position as Head and Chair Professor in the Department of Economics at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology while also acting as Chair Professor of Social Science and Professor of Economics. Prior experience includes roles at the University of Oxford, where Park was a Professor and Reader in the Economy of China, as well as a lengthy tenure at the University of Michigan as an Associate and Assistant Professor of Economics. A Fulbright Research Scholar at Peking University focused on China's labor market development, Park obtained a PhD in applied economics from Stanford University and an AB in economics from Harvard University.
