Kar Yan Tam

Kar Yan Tam is a distinguished academic leader currently serving as Vice President for Administration and Business at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology since July 2024. Previously, Kar Yan held the position of Dean and Chair Professor of the School of Business and Management at HKUST Business School from April 2016 to July 2024. Kar Yan's extensive experience at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology includes roles as Associate Provost, Dean of Students, and Chair Professor, along with serving as Dean of Undergraduate Education and Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs from 2005 to April 2016. Kar Yan Tam earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Information Systems from Purdue University.
