On the first Saturday in May, you can find Mike Zoladz at Churchill Downs watching the Kentucky Derby with a group of old friends. Mike always enjoys the annual outing and even bets on a few races. But as a risk management professional with nearly 30 years of experience, that weekend is the only time Mike will bet against the odds.
Mike came to The Horton Group in 1997 after working for both a publicly-traded broker and an independent agency. He feels The Horton Group differentiates itself from the competition through the delivery of value-added services and regular client communication.
“Our claims advocacy and loss prevention services are fantastic,” Mike said. “At the publicly-traded firms, you would be waiting in line for these services. Also, no one at Horton sits back and waits for the renewal season. There is a tenacious culture of hard work that is prevalent here. We are constantly working with clients to explore new avenues that will further improve their program.” Mike feels it is his job to prove to clients that The Horton Group deserve another year of their business. He prides himself on the longevity of his client relationships and maintains that trust is the main reason for his success over the years.
“All of my clients are good companies run by good people,” Mike explained. “And they quickly realize that their priorities become my priorities. Whether just returning a phone call immediately or making presentation to a board of directors, these clients know my team and I will always come through for them.”
Mike is a graduate of Northern Illinois University and has received his Chartered Property and Casualty (CPCU) designation. The CPCU designation is recognized as one of the highest educational achievements in the insurance industry.
Mike and his team treat their clients with the highest level of professionalism and are ready to help with any issue. That is something you can safely bet on.
