Nicola Strappazzon Carotenuto

Nicola Strappazzon Carotenuto has a diverse range of work experience in the technology industry. Nicola started their career as a Technician at Apolo Computer, C.A. in 2000 and later worked as a Freelance Database Administrator at Ing3nia, specializing in PostgreSQL. Nicola also gained experience as an Analyst and Programmer at Gestiona Radio, where they were responsible for development, server administration, and small IT projects.

In 2006, Nicola joined Universidad Nueva Esparta as a Director of Development, where they played a key role in creating and maintaining web solutions to improve academic and administrative activities. Nicola was also a Teacher at the university, instructing courses in programming, web development, and database administration.

Nicola transitioned to the corporate sector in 2013 when they joined Rakuten TV as a Database Administrator. Here, they implemented a redundant and resilient architecture while performing regular database management tasks. Nicola then moved on to Binlogic Inc. as a MySQL Remote Database Administrator, providing database consulting services to clients. Nicola managed over 100 database servers and assisted with optimization, migrations, and monitoring.

In 2017, Nicola worked at Heygo as a Sysadmin and Database Administrator, focusing on migrating infrastructure and optimizing systems for a nationwide television launch. Nicola also served as a Database Reliability Engineer at ZINIO, where they improved performance and reduced costs by modernizing the database infrastructure.

More recently, Nicola held the position of Technical Lead and Database Reliability Engineer at The Hotels Network. Nicola was initially responsible for ensuring the reliability and scalability of the database infrastructure and was later promoted to Tech Lead of Data Engineering. In this role, they led a team in modernizing the analytics system, optimizing processes, and transitioning to a real-time event-oriented environment.

In 2020, Nicola briefly collaborated as an Expert Collaborator at Assembler School of Software Engineering before pursuing new opportunities.

Nicola Strappazzon Carotenuto pursued their undergraduate education from 2001 to 2007 at Universidad Nueva Esparta, where they completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
