Kathy Fountain, CPA, CGMA has an extensive work experience history. Starting in 1997, they worked as a Controller for The Arrow Project until 2000. From 2000 to 2004, they served as the Controller for the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council. In 2004, they became the Chief Financial Officer for AAMA and held this position until 2005 when they joined Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston as the CFO and Vice President. Kathy held this role until 2013 when they became the CFO of SER - Jobs for Progress of the Texas Gulf Coast, Inc. In 2019, they took on the role of Chief Financial Officer for the Houston Food Bank. Additionally, Kathy worked at Rice University as the Lead Instructor at the Glasscock School of Continuing Education from 2012 to 2019.

Kathy Fountain, CPA, CGMA, holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration (B.B.A.) with a specialization in Accounting from the University of Houston, which they obtained from 1970 to 1974. In 1976, they became a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas. Later, in 2012, Kathy obtained a Masters of Accountancy with a focus on Accounting from the University of St. Thomas (TX). Additionally, Kathy also holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant designation from the AICPA, which they obtained in 2012.
