Michael Harris is current Director at The Houston Food Bank. Prior to their work with The Houston Food Bank, Harris had a long and successful career in the software industry. Harris began their career in software in 1974 with Mercantile Safe Deposit & Trust. Michael quickly rose through the ranks and became a Senior Vice President at Sterling Software in 1982. At Sterling Software, Harris was responsible for resolving major sales, contract, product, development, implementation, and acquisition issues involving key clients or business partners – including IBM-UK and Barclays.
In 1996, Harris joined Carreker Corporation (now Fiserv) as a Senior Vice President. At Carreker, Harris was once again responsible for resolving major sales, contractual, product, development, implementation, and acquisition issues involving large clients or business partners. Harris also proposed and initiated the business strategy of combining the Carreker Group with Antinori Software to form Carreker-Antinori, Inc. as a publicly traded company. Harris continued to work as a Technology and Operations Officer at Mercantile Safe Deposit & Trust until 2003 when they joined The Houston Food Bank.
Harris has been a driving force in the software industry for over four decades.
