The Hutchins School
Melanie Wilkinson is an experienced trumpet teacher and professional musician currently serving at The Friends' School in Hobart since August 2022 and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra since June 2020. In addition, Melanie teaches trumpet at The Hutchins School and brass at St Mary's College, both since 2020, and previously held a trumpet teaching position at Wesley College from February 2016 to December 2019. With a background as a musician in the Royal Australian Navy from May 2006 to November 2012, Melanie performed with the Royal Australian Navy Band in various ceremonial and public relations roles. Melanie's academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Music from the University of Tasmania, a Graduate Diploma of Education in Music Teacher Education from the University of Melbourne, and a Bachelor of Music in Solo Trumpet Performance from Monash University.
